walking in the rain

The mini meeting we had today in the SE studio was one of the best meetings in a long while. Any sane person alive would have probably died laughing after hearing the kind of jokes we came up with, especially the part of re-enacting certain individuals in camp, whom I shan’t mention.

Anyway, I have found the best mee goreng in Singapore! :) It’s in my camp. Haha. Honestly, it’s the most delicious mee goreng I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. It’s so good, it sure deserves a recommendation.

It’s Polling Day today, I believe. I’m sorry to say this but I have absolutely no idea (and interest) in what’s going on about elections and stuff. I wouldn’t even bother finding out even if you paid me a million bucks, because I just don’t see why there’s such a big hoo-ha over such things. If one party’s going to win, just let them win. What’s this competition all about?

I really can’t be bothered about things like politics. I’d rather spend my time working on my Sibelius scores, or meeting up with my friends, for that matter. In fact, I just went out with Ping for a preview of the movie Kinky Boots. This buddy of mine was my primary school mate. We’ve never really hung out together, so I’d say today was the first time. It was pretty fun, I must say, since we shared quite a number of things in common. He knows what they are. :)

Oh, by the way, Kinky Boots isn't quite kinky after all. In fact, it's a really lame movie. Don't watch it unless you do happen to have complimentary tickets to the show. Otherwise, I'd suggest you save your money and spend it on something that's really worth, like, say, coming over to my camp and trying out the $2 mee goreng. Haha.

In other news, I’ve come to the conclusion today that my siblings are rather selfish people. I’ve always believed what goes around comes around. They'll probably get a taste of their own medicine soon.

Indeed, it was an awesome evening of fellowship and getting to know one another. Turns out that everyone from the MediaTech Ministry are really nice people. :) Thank God for them.

I spent the entire day laughing today. Either during afternoon rehearsals with David and Jon (where I laughed till I totally cried after hearing the ultimate joke of the year), or with the MediaTech crew after our meeting. Haha. I would say today's one of the most fun days I've had in a while. Recruiting new blood, and making Sam and Jaspar lose their virginity in camp on the same day (no, it's not what you're thinking). Haha.

And yes, I finally ran for 30 minutes round camp without stopping today, for the very first time. Not a very big deal to most people out there, I know, but it's quite an achievement for me.

Yesterday's jamming session was really fun, by the way. In fact, saying it was fun would be an understatement. It was totally awesome. It didn't even feel like a rehearsal. Man, I'd do anything to go back and jam again.

Well, it's been a long day. Time to get some rest, but not before I run some errands for my manager. Need to pick up some CDs for him. I'll write again soon. :)

Yes, I’m still alive.

I know I haven’t updated in the longest time, as usual. I’ve been so busy with so many things, it’s hard to believe it myself. Sometimes I wonder why I’ve got so many things to do. No one will ever understand or know how I lead my life, not even my closest friends.

There are days where I feel like leaving camp early to do my own stuff, so I tell my camp mates that I might leave early as I’m busy and have got things to do outside camp. Their reply? “But you’re always busy.” Come to think of it, that’s quite true. It doesn’t matter where I am – I’ve always got things to do, whether it’s shows to perform, interviews to go for, movie previews to attend, prizes to collect, gigs to perform, celebrations to attend, friends to meet, chalets to go for, showcases to attend, parties to attend, students to teach, church events to go for, and the list just continues.

I would say the highlights of the past month or so have been:

- A wedding gig which I organized for the very first time on 19/3 (it was also my brother’s birthday so I gave him a chance to play together with my sister and I)
- The MDC chalet at Aranda Country Club from 20/3 – 22/3
- MTV Fashionably Loud at The Tent on 23/3 (which I sold off all my tickets)
- A wedding I performed together with my aunt on 25/3 at Four Seasons Hotel
- Movie screening of Ultraviolet at the brand new The Cathay Cineplex on 30/3 – my very first movie there! :)
- SB Vetting on 5/4 (one of the most stressed performances we had to put up after months of hard work)
- Easter celebrations on 14/3 & 16/3: where, for the first time, I actually did the lighting together with the Technical Services ministry for both dramas on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday (Theatre Stack Programming is damn fun!)
- The 987FM Hollaback Crew at the Singapore Indoor Stadium which featured The Click Five on 15/4
- The Click Five showcase at Zouk on 19/4 – it wasn’t as happening as the 987 event on 15/4
- The Pink party at Ministry of Sound on 20/4 – wasn’t the best party I’ve been to, but nonetheless fun, since I invited half the MDC guys along.

Of course, there’s a whole bunch more, like the usual supper nights with my buddies at Chijmes, whether it’s at Laviva or at Hog’s Breath. Oh, and I have a new student too, so that takes up my Sunday evenings from now.

In fact, I played for a gig together with ZY, RC and Chris this afternoon at a MediaCorp Publishing event called Style Weddings Glamour Bash 2006. The turnout was really good, I must say, and I love the way the whole event was run. It was great to play with the other guys, especially when I’ve not seen people like ZY for years, ever since the SNYO Aberdeen trip, which we both went for. Today’s event was made better when we had free Haagen-Dazs ice-cream to eat. :)

Lastly, I just want to say that I’m back to using my old handphone number. I’m still with M1, but on a plan that’s cheaper with better value, and under my name, so there’s less confusion when the bill arrives. The other new number’s still around, except that it’s been passed over to my younger brother. I apologize for the frequent switching of numbers. The reason’s simple – StarHub sucks. Well, their network coverage, at least. I don’t want to be in the music studio all day without any network on my handphone, knowing that there’s absolutely no way people are able to reach me. I’d rather pay more for something that I can use, rather than pay less for something I can’t use at all, if you get what I mean.
